How Wine Figured in the Lives of the Great Composers
Brahms was not only a gifted composer but also a wine connoisseur. When a prominent wine merchant uncorked a bottle of his best wine for the great man, he proposed this effusive toast: "What Brahms is among composers, this Riesling is among wines." After a taste, Brahms snorted, "Well then, how about opening a bottle of Bach." Hear colorful tales about Beethoven, Handel and Haydn, Schubert and Schumann, Mozart and Musorgsky. Discover how the grape inspired some to great heights, and brought down others. Enjoy sampling many of the same style wines that were their favorites.
