VINTAGE PERFORMANCES
Christine Ansbacher, CWE (Certified Wine Educator) prides herself on being both an educator and an entertainer. Assuming the persona of "The Wine Diva," an appellation she acquired after a "bravura performance" at a wine dinner she conducted for the Metropolitan Opera Club, Ansbacher delivers fun, informative and animated talks and wine tastings at special events from corporate conventions, dinners and seminars to private parties.
She specializes in interweaving cultural and historical elements with wine knowledge, delivering themed presentations on a variety of favorite wine-related subjects. such as "The Passions of Thomas Jefferson: Wine, Women, Architecture and Music"; "Champagne Celebrities: 1600's to Today"; "How Warfare Changed Eating and Drinking Habits: Charlemagne to Saddam Hussein"; "Gastronomic Tour of Spain: How Outside Influences Shaped the Foods and Wines of Spain."
Ansbacher also delivers practical tips from how to avoid red-wine headaches to choosing excellent value-priced bottles and pairing food and wines. She can customize a wine-related presentation for any event. Ansbacher can serve as a featured speaker with guests gathering around tasting stations with pre-poured wines and hors d' oeuvres, or she can participate in lengthier banquets, commenting on wines and related topics before each course. Her fees (exclusive of food and beverage costs) range from $1,500 to $2,000, depending on her involvement in the event. Clients can provide their own wines or she can secure them at retail or auction for them.
